About me
Ms. Malarney hails from the great city of Boston, Massachusetts.
She received her BA in Psychology from Fairfield University in 2009. After
graduation, Ms. Malarney worked for a couple of years in different fields of
Education. She was a case- manager and teacher for Autistic students for an
organization for two years. It was a great job, but Ms. Malarney knew she wanted
to work in a public school, so she become a Special Education Paraprofessional
at Baker Elementary in Newton, MA. It was here that Ms. Malarney realized her
dream of wanting to become a School Counselor, but in order to make her
dream a reality, she knew she would have to go back to school to earn her
Masters. In 2013, after hard work that included an internship and lots of
studying, Ms. Malarney graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill with a concentration in School Counseling. She is very excited to be
starting her first year at Hillcrest Elementary!
In her free time, Ms. Malarney enjoys reading, skiing, and horseback riding. She
has two cats (Yuri and Javier). She likes all Boston sports teams and is a
Tarheels fan!
